Pizza Sales Through The Roof During March Madness

Do you like washing down your bracket with a brick oven pizza? Turns out you're not the only one. Pizza chains nationwide have reported a consistent boost in sales every year around NCAA's March Madness basketball tournament. In 2013 Domino's Pizza sold 1.7 million pizzas nationwide during the Final Four men's tournament alone. This year will likely be no different. Domino's, Buffalo Wild Wings, and Papa John's shares hit all-time highs last week, according to CNN.

"While teams across the U.S. vie for a spot at the table in the college basketball finals, Domino's team members are preparing for their own big pizza delivery days," said Chris Brandon, a spokesperson from Domino's said in a press release. "Team members across the country are putting on their game faces and gearing up for basketball-watching parties."

Most pizza chains are taking advantage of March Madness season with some seriously spicy deals, like Domino's offering 50 percent off all online orders (hurry up! The offer is only good through today, March 24), and Pizza Hut, which announced the launch of its sister brand, WingStreet. If any of the 12 teams who have a mascot with wings win the championship, everyone will get a free four-piece order of wings on April 12th. Hooters is encouraging people to skip work and take advantage of deals like "buy 10 wings, get 10 wings free." CiCi's pizza is also offering daily deals during March Madness.
