Pippa Middleton Dishing Out Dinner And Party Advice To The Masses

Did you think Pippa Middleton would stop trying after some pretty scathing reviews of her entertaining book? Well, apparently not. U.K. grocery purveyor Waitrose has signed on semi-royalty darling Pippa Middleton as a columnist in their magazine Waitrose Kitchen. Middleton will reportedly cover all things entertaining, writing about easy dining ideas and recipes.

According to a press release, her first column, titled "Pippa's Friday Night Feasts," will appear in the April issue, out March 28 in Waitrose shops. "I'm delighted to be writing for Waitrose Kitchen, a magazine that's always been a source of inspiration to me, for its extensive spectrum of food and beautiful style," Middleton said in a press release.

Naturally, non-Pippa fans aren't too pleased. "Pippa Middleton column for Waitrose mag is so off-key for brand priding itself on authenticity — and real kick in the teeth for food writers," Guy Woodward, editor at Food and Travel magazine, tweeted. "I agree. Also not sure Waitrose customers would be sucked in by celeb stuff, surely they want real experts," Carolyn Boyd, editor of France magazine, replied.

In any case, Middleton does have some experience in the party scene, having managed a party supplies business with her family. And while Middleton did publish Celebrate: A Year of Festivities for Families and Friends, it debuted to mixed reviews. Nevertheless, "Pippa's Friday Night Feasts" is happening whether critics like it or not. "'Pippa will be an excellent contributor to the magazine, bringing with her a wealth of experience of entertaining, gained in part from working at her family's party business," William Sitwell, Waitrose Kitchen editor, said in a release. "Readers will love her relaxed and easy entertaining ideas which will help with the preparation for all sorts of occasions." We wonder if it'll also include fashion tips, workout regimes, and something a bit edgier than lollipop-studded pumpkins.
