Pig Out At Ribfest Chicago

Barbecue may not have originated in Chicago, but the city sure knows how to do it right. This June, Ribfest Chicago, is back with 50,000 pounds of ribs and barbecue from more than 30 restaurants around the city. The three-day rib festival kicks off on Friday with barbecues and live performances.

Ribfest is known for its Amateur Rib-Eating Contest, where the winner gets the chance to compete against the professionals the next day during RIBMANIA!, Ribfest's professional rib-eating competition.

Those who don't have a competitive gut, but love to chow down will have plenty to eat too. Ribfest's vendors are smoking up the grill to serve everything from slabs of ribs and pulled pork to fried candy bars and funnel cake. Some vendors include Black Rock Pub & Kitchen, Chicago BBQ Company, and Pitchfork.

Ribfest also hosts live performances featuring The Heartless Bastards, Megafaun, and J. Roddy Walston and the Business.
