New York Food 'Idols' Auction Themselves Off

The Just Food "Day in the Life" auction is offering bidders the chance to meet some of their favorite New York food icons. Included in the auction is the chance to meet Gramercy Tavern executive chef Michael Anthony and learn about how his restaurant stays at the top of restaurant rankings (number nine in The Daily Meal's 101 Best Restaurants in America), and the opportunity to spend the day behind the scenes with one of NYC's top caterers, Liz Neumark, the socially conscious owner and CEO of Great Performances.

All proceeds from the auction go to support Just Food's programs — community supported agriculture, urban farming, food pantries, and eduction. The 30-plus participating local food visionaries (including a baker, a brewer, a forager, chefs, farmers, writers, activists, and more) are all dedicated to local food, the environment, and food justice issues. So, if you feel like getting your hands dirty with the owner and farmer of Grazin' Angus Acres and Grazin' Restaurant, Dan Gibson, and spend the day herding cattle, then start bidding today.

Bidding is open through Sunday, March 11. Get in on the action here.
