Fresh Ricotta and Fava Bean Bruschetta

  • 1 1/2 Cup  shelled fresh fava beans (from about 1 1/2 pounds) or frozen baby lima beans
  • 4x3x1/2-inch slices country-style bread, cut in half crosswise
  • garlic cloves, cut in half crosswise
  • 1/3 Cup  thinly sliced fresh basil
Slightly sweet, fresh ricotta, which can be found in many Italian markets, makes this starter especially delicious. Regular ricotta also works well.
