Video Profiles For Rising Star Chef Of The Year Contenders
In advance of upcoming James Beard Awards on May 5th, S. Pellegrino, sponsor of the Rising Star of the Year Award for 2014, has put together a video series of the five contenders in the running.
Each of the five finalists is 30 years of age or younger and has been chosen for his or her potential to "make a significant impact in the food and dining industry in the years ahead."
Previous recipients of the Rising Star Chef award include Christina Tosi in 2012, Gabriel Rucker in 2011, Gavin Kaysen in 2008, and David Chang in 2007.
This year's nominees are Blaine Wetzel of The Willows Inn, Katie Button of Cúrate and Nightbell, Jimmy Bannos, Jr. of The Purple Pig, David Posey of Blackbird, and Jessica Largey of Manresa.
Each short video was filmed on location in each of the chefs' restaurants and lets viewers get a behind-the-scenes look at the hard work of each young chef.
