Uber Is Testing Fast Food Delivery Service

Uber, the car-pickup service, is testing out a new service called UberFRESH, which will allow you to order food at the click of a button, and have it delivered to your door in under 10 minutes. Wow, talk about fast food. Here's how it works: Uber will post a menu option (usually a soup, salad or sandwich) from a local restaurant. If you like what you see, place your order for an flat rate of $12 per meal, and meet an Uber driver outside your address in 10 minutes.

Right now UberFRESH is only testing in Santa Monica, California. So, if you're in the area from today until September 5, download the Uber app and try it out if you're hungry, any time between 11:30 and 2:30 p.m. We are a bit bummed out at the lack of options (on Wednesday, you can get a Farmer's Market Salad from 41 Ocean whether you're in the mood for it or not), but it certainly makes the delivery process easier and faster. Plus, each order apparently comes with a freshly-baked cookie.

Uber says that even though this is a test, they are looking to expand this service to the rest of Southern California.
