McDonald's UK Launches Table Service And Hires Michelin-Starred Chefs To Make Burgers

Imagine sitting down at a white tablecloth-covered table, being served a gourmet burger that was handcrafted by a Michelin-starred chef.You might think you'd be dining at a premiere culinary destination, but this could actually be the future of McDonald's.

First McDonald's tested out table service on the West Coast, and now the posh fast food program is being launched in the U.K. In addition, McDonald's U.K. will be expanding its Signature Burger program, a new line of "premium" burgers created by Michelin-starred chefs, according to The Daily Mail.

As of now, McDonald's table service and new line of gourmet burgers will be coming to 400 locations across Britain by the end of the year. Customers will order their burgers tableside at a digital kiosk, and a few minutes later, servers will bring over their order.

The Signature Burgers, meanwhile, were created by a team of chefs with extensive culinary experience in Michelin-starred restaurants, and are the thickest burgers ever to be served at a McDonald's restaurant, according to The Guardian. The burgers will be customizable and served on brioche buns.
