Emeril Lagasse Pays Homage To His Hometown At Taste Of The Race

South Walton, Florida, the hometown of chef and TV personality Emeril Lagasse, will be hosting their first-ever food festival, Taste of the Race, which will take place after the Seaside School Half Marathon and 5K. The Daily Meal has the exclusive on the details of this new event, where chefs will be exhibiting unique, Gulf-style cuisine in conjunction with the race. 

The event will be taking place on Friday, February 27 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. with Emeril Lagasse hosting a V.I.P. reception beforehand, where guests will sample cocktails and hors d'oeuvres, while getting the chance to meet chef Lagasse. All proceeds from the reception will go to Seaside Neighborhood School. Tickets for general admission cost $99, and tickets to the V.I.P. reception with admission to the event cost $250.

Besides Emeril's, other restaurants in attendance will be The Bay, Great Southern Café (both run by chef Jim Shirley), Stinky's Fish Camp, and Bud & Alley's (executive chef David Bishop). The morning after the event, festival attendees can watch or participate in the half-marathon, which starts at the Seaside post office made famous by The Truman Show.
