New Spanish Restaurant To Offer $2,000 Private Tasting Menu

At Sublimotion, guests will certainly be putting (quite a lot of) money where their mouth is.The yet-to-be-opened restaurant that will be a part of the brand-new Hard Rock Hotel in Ibiza, Spain, will be offering a private, €1,500 per head (approximately $2,070 or $18,000 total), 20-course tasting menu prepared by Paco Roncero — the two Michelin-starred chef of La Terraza del Casino in Madrid, that just may be the most expensive in the world.

This video shows what the exclusive experience will be like:

The dining experience will be very intimate with seating for only 12 people, and will feature a feast for the senses with different sounds and lighting to accompany the meal, according to representatives from the Hard Rock Hotel, If you want to rent out the place for the evening, you'll have to dole out approximately $2,070 per person. On a regular basis, the restaurant menu will be offered à la carte, so the cost depends on what patrons order, though we can't imagine the experience will come cheap.

Sublimotion will open with the hotel in June. No word yet on what the exact menu offerings will be, but in a statement, Hard Rock stated that the menu will "cause a stir among the most neglected senses; from moments of humor, pleasure, fear, reflection and nostalgia, diners will be wandering through a world of sensations from the North Pole where they will enjoy a cold snack that they carve on their own iceberg or to the baroque Versailles where the elegance of a rose is sure to melt in their palate."

That's a tall order.

"This commitment to gastronomy, entertainment, technology, and luxury fits perfectly with Hard Rock's passion to keep music at the forefront of each initiative," Abel Matutes Prats, CEO of Palladium Hotel Group said in a statement.
