Morimoto To Open Restaurant In Disney World

Disney World has announced the newest restaurants to be added to the upcoming Disney Springs area including Morimoto Asia: Iron Chef Masaharu Morimoto's first pan-Asian restaurant and first foray into the theme park dining scene. Disney is dubbing the new expansive restaurant, which will open in Summer 2015, "a dining destination" that will not only feature a traditional restaurant space, but also exhibition kitchens showcasing traditions like Peking duck carving and dim sum.

"I'm very excited to bring this new concept to Disney, something I've always dreamed of," said chef Morimoto in a press release. "It's a wonderful chance to share some of my favorite foods from across the Asian continent."

Morimoto's neighbor will be The Boathouse, an upscale waterfront restaurant with live music, and guided water taxi tours complete with champagne and chocolate-covered strawberries. Both Morimoto Asia and The Boathouse will be a part of Disney Springs (formerly known as Downtown Disney and Pleasure Island), which will be opening in stages throughout 2015. The re-vamped shopping, dining, and entertainment district will emulate "turn-of-the-century lakeside towns that once dotted the Florida landscape."
