CVS Launches 'Snacks That Give Back' For Sustainable And Charitable Food

You don't need to head to Whole Foods or your closest organic market for "better-for-you" snacks — CVS Pharmacy has you covered. The company has just launched its latest initiative "Snacks that Give Back."

"Snacks that Give Back" is a trend zone (a store area built around a theme) featuring packaged snacks and beverages that support feel good causes.

Items and beverages featured in the zone include: Honest Tea, a Fair Trade Certified brand of lightly sweetened iced tea; Vita Coco, coconut water from a company that supports sustainability with its Vita Coco Project; RETHINK water, an environment-friendly brand that uses 100 percent recyclable packaging; Endangered Species chocolate, a line of dark chocolate that supports Habitat for Humanity; and Justin's, a maker of nut butters and organic peanut butter cups that supports Conscious Alliance.

In an effort to continue to promote healthy eating, CVS plans to launch different healthy food trends throughout the year. Past food trend zones include paleo, raw, and vegan snacks featuring brands such as EPIC bars, That's It snacks, and Larabar Bites.

The "Snacks that Give Back" trend zone will be on display in 2,367 locations through early May.
