Get Gold-Topped Cronuts In These Fancy Celeb-Designed Boxes

Looks like the Cronut craze hasn't missed the celebrity circle. What started out as a simple Twitter conversation between Christiane Lemieux of DwellStudio and designer Peter Som has turned into a full-on Cronut Mission.

The mission? Dominique Ansel's croissant-donut hybrid is hitting the auction circle for God's Love We Deliver, a nonprofit that feeds people in need. Collaborating with designers to create special boxes, biddingowld.com will auction off signed, designed boxes containing two Cronuts (topped with 24K gold leaf, obviously, and filled with pumpkin cream). Some of the designers you might know: Heidi Klum, Jonathan Adler, Simon Doonan, Amanda Freitag, and Sandra Lee, to name a few.

Indeed, the boxes (all signed) might be worth something, judging off looks alone. Simon Doonan, fashion personality, bedecks his box with a sleek blond wig. Klum's box comes bedazzled with mutli-colored gems. The cast of A Night with Janis Joplin contributed a jaunty, feathered concoction, while Joan Rivers seems to have hand-painted her creation with tulips.

Bidding goes from Nov. 18 to Nov. 26, and prices start at $100 a box. Each box and Cronuts will be delivered to winners, who must live in the New York City area, on Thanksgiving morning, and all proceeds benefit God's Love We Deliver.
