I Am Frying Pan: Mac Sabbath Is The World's Premier Fast Food-Themed Metal Band

McDonald's and Black Sabbath: one's a heavy meal, and the other is heavy metal. One induces you to stuff your face, the other is face-melting. Mac Sabbath is a metal tribute band that combines the music of Black Sabbath with fast food versions of the band's famous songs ("I Am Iron Man," for instance, becomes "I Am Frying Pan").

The Los Angeles-based Mac Sabbath takes their McMetal tribute even further by wearing creepy, demonic versions of McDonald's mascot costumes, like Ronald McDonald in a straitjacket, and a Grimace with crazy eyes.Mac Sabbath will be touring the West Coast and Southwest, according to the BrooklynVegan blog. The band writes on their Facebook page that they consider their musical genre to be "drive-thru metal."

The concept reminds us a bit of Macaulay Culkin's Pizza Underground, a Velvet Underground tribute band that altered the band's lyrics to be pizza-themed.
