Trailer: 'Chef's Table,' A Netflix Original Series From The Director Of 'Jiro Dreams Of Sushi'

On April 26, Chef's Table from David Gelb, the filmmaker behind Jiro Dreams of Sushi, will premiere on Netflix as an original documentary series.

The series will star six of the world's most acclaimed and ambitious international chefs: Massimo Bottura of Osteria Francescana (Italy), Dan Barber of Blue Hill at Stone Barns (New York), Ben Shewry of Attica Restaurant (Melbourne), Francis Mallmann of El Restaurante Patagonia Sur (Buenos Aires), Niki Nakayama of N/Naka Restaurant (Los Angeles), and Magnus Nilsson of Fäviken (Sweden).

Each episode will focus on a single chef and his or her tireless pursuit of their ideal restaurant, whether that means the highest Michelin star rating, the most sustainable and humane sourcing practices, or the most innovative interpretations of food as a work of art.

"What I didn't understand when I was just looking at the beauty is just how torturous it is," Dan Barber intones at one point, his voice heavy with the wisdom of experience.

Season 1 of Chef's Table premieres exclusively on Netflix on April 26.
