The Dude Imbibes: 'Big Lebowski'-Themed Restaurant/Bar Opens In Small Iowa Town

The Dude would approve. Robins, a tiny town in Iowa — population 3,200 — has just opened its first restaurant. And what better way to celebrate the start of a new small-town culinary scene than by honoring a cult-classic movie?

Lebowski's Bar & Grill pays tribute to the Coen Brothers' movie with multiple references throughout the restaurant,  including an entryway rug that's a replica of the one from the film, and several original movie posters placed all over the restaurant. Owner Shawn Bodensteiner, 47, even showed up to the ribbon-cutting ceremony wearing The Dude's iconic sweater.

"My wife and I live in Robins. It's a great community, and there was a void by not having a bar and grill or restaurant here," Bodensteiner told Twin Cities Pioneer Press. "It's classic pub-style food with a twist and some additions."

Hungry fans can order The Big Lebowski burger —made with beef, four cheeses, bacon, shaved roast beef, barbecue sauce, and onion rings, or "The Dude" fries topped with cheese, pulled pork, tomatoes, onions, bacon, and barbecue sauce.

And yes — restaurant patrons will be able to order a White Russian.
