Comedian Mindy Kaling Has Teamed Up With Umami Burger To Create Her Own Burger

Mindy Kaling, author, comedian, and star of The Mindy Project, has made no secret of her love for fast food, as she explained earlier this year on Conan. She once even surprised her show's entire cast and crew with an elaborate McDonald's spread. Now, Kaling is taking her love of burgers to a whole new level with her Umami Burger partnership.

The comic icon announced the collaboration on Instagram, saying, "In the greatest collaboration since Jared and Subway, I am curating a burger for Umami Burger that will debut in September in time for The Mindy Project launching at Hulu and my book Why Not Me!"

After The Mindy Project was canceled by Fox in May, Hulu picked up the popular dramedy series and will premiere the next season this fall. Kaling's second book, Why Not Me?, a follow-up to her first bestselling book, Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me?, is set to publish on September 15.

According to Kaling, she is a huge Umami fan. The folks at Umami are staying mum on the details of the collaboration, but a representative told People to expect more details on Mindy's chosen burger creation at the end of August.
