Coldplay Frontman Chris Martin's Diet Rivals His Ex's Gwyneth Paltrow

Goop founder Gwyneth Paltrow may be known for consuming only raw, organic food and gravitating toward goji berries and quinoa, but her ex-husband's diet just may her rival her own restrictive nutritious lifestyle.Chris Martin, lead singer and frontman of Coldplay has revealed his own dietary plan called the "6:1 Diet," which involves fasting entirely for one day a week, only consuming water on that day. He says the diet improves his singing voice and creativity, according to ABC News.

"This guy said to me, 'Try not eating for a day, it will make your body feel healthier,' and I did it and I found I could sing a bit better, and also I felt so grateful for food," the "Yellow" singer said. ""If you fast for a while, about 15 hours, then you can get a little antsy, so you've got to be careful who you're talking to at that point."

The diet is not just difficult; it also apparently has few discernable health benefits:

"Any of the benefits that this type of program offers relate to psychological benefits, not necessarily physical benefits," Lisa Drayer, nutritionist and author of "The Beauty Diet," told ABC News. "You do have to be careful because fasting can lead to headaches, irritability, low blood sugar and difficulty concentrating and this could all negatively impact performance."
