A Woman Found A Black Widow Spider In Her Grapes And Called The Police

A Detroit woman bought grapes at Wal-Mart and brought them home, but as she was washing them at her sink, a black widow spider crawled out of the container. Acting on her first instinct, she immediately called 911.

"I told them that 'this isn't really an emergency, but I have a black widow spider in my grapes and I don't really know what to do," Ariel Jackson said on Detroit's WWJ Newsradio 950. "He kind of just paused and was like, 'kill it' and I was like 'you want me to kill it? You're not going to send anyone over? This is a poisonous spider' and he's like, 'yeah, just kill it and throw it away.'"

Jackson took the officer's advice and had her boyfriend and brother-in-law kill the spider with insect killer. They then brought the container outside.

A Wal-Mart spokesperson told CBS Detroit that they are looking into how the spider ended up in the grapes and are investigating the allegations.
