Truck Carrying 46,000 Pounds Of Yogurt Overturns On Interstate 65

A truck carrying 46,000 pounds of Yoplait yogurt was overturned on an Interstate 65 ramp, closing the area for a number of hours, reports Fox 59.

Officials from the Clifford Fire Department in Indiana say that the truck overturned in the southbound lanes of I-65 at mile marker 89, near Franklin, Indiana. Crew members spent several hours cleaning the area. The ramp has reopened as of 1:35 p.m. on Thursday, July 30.

The driver, who was alert when officials reached him, was taken to the hospital to be examined.

Earlier this week, yet another big food spill took place in New Hampshire, when 220 gallons of maple syrup leaked from a freight truck that was transporting the contents from Vermont.

It is unknown what caused the truck to start leaking, but the driver was notified by people driving behind him. Officials resorted to using particularly absorbent materials, including sand and tarp, to clean up the spill.
