Take A Spoon Selfie And Donate A Meal To Someone In Need During September, Hunger Action Month

Throughout the month of September, you can send a meal to someone who needs it by taking a selfie and posting it to Instagram or Twitter.

The initiative is a social media campaign called "Spoontember," from Cheeky, the single-use tableware brand exclusive to Target, in partnership with Feeding America, the largest hunger-relief organization in the United States.

If you'd like to participate, all you have to do is take a selfie with a spoon on your nose — you don't need to go hands-free, but you can — with the hashtag #Spoontember, and tag both Feeding America (@FeedingAmerica) and Cheeky (@Cheeky_Home) on either platform. For every Twitter and Instagram post that includes these tags, Cheeky will donate a meal through Feeding America.

So far, participants include former NSYNC star Lance Bass, and of course, celebrity chef Mario Batali, who serves as Cheeky's chief culinary ambassador. Read our interview with chef Batali about his decision to work with Cheeky, and help us spread the word about the extraordinary power of a selfie during "Spoontember."
