Taco Bell Is Now Accepting Blind Preorders For Its Newest Menu Item

Would you order a box containing Taco Bell's latest concoction, even if you had no idea what it was? The fast food chain is banking on it.

In the latest teaser for the their "biggest launch to date," Taco Bell released thee new digital teasers for its 30-second Super Bowl ad spot, featuring the likes of Houston Rockets star James Harden and alien expert Giorgio Tsoukalos.

The commercial reads, "Taco Bell's newest innovation is so top secret, even the people in the commercial don't know what it is." Instead, the talent in the spots are holding green screen boxes, presumably to add the actual menu item in post.

In addition, Taco Bell is giving fans nationwide the opportunity to be among the first to try its newest mystery menu item. Through a blind preorder, fans can pick up the new menu item between 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. at their local Taco Bell on Saturday, February 6, one day before the official announcement during the Super Bowl and two days before the menu item officially launches nationwide.

Customers in Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Toledo will also enjoy three live, pop-up performances from Feed The Beat® bands Jacob Whitesides, The Mowgli's, and Never Shout Never, according to a release.

Marisa Thalberg, Chief Marketing Officer for Taco Bell Corp, says, "[A]s part of the next phase of our big reveal, we've created a pre-order program on Ta.co that will give people special access to try it a full two days before everyone else. There's just one thing: it's a 'blind' pre-order. Trust us, though; it's worth it."
