Taco Bell Is Giving Out Free Biscuit Tacos On Cinco De Mayo

What's the best way to celebrate Mexico's victory at the Battle of Puebla? (That's Cinco de Mayo for all you history greenhorns.) Forget the half-priced margaritas and guacamole — it's all about free biscuit tacos at Taco Bell. That's right: Tomorrow morning between 7 and 11 a.m., you can start your day with a gratis breakfast sandwich in a taco-shaped biscuit. We don't know many people who would scoff at that opportunity.

The biscuit taco was unveiled last fall and officially released this March. It features bacon or sausage with eggs and cheese wrapped in a biscuit and topped with jalapeño honey. According to Taco Bell, May 5 is officially known as "Breakfast Defector Day." If we had to guess, we'd say you are supposedly defecting from your allegiance to McDonald's breakfast or your daily green smoothie.

If you share your biscuit taco loot on social media with the hashtag #BreakfastDefector, you could win a customized oil painting of yourself. Who said Taco Bell wasn't fancy?
