A Middle School Student Was Arrested At School For 'Stealing' A Carton Of Free Milk

A black Virginia teenager was humiliated when he was arrested by police for stealing a 65-cent carton of milk at school... when he was entitled to the milk for free because he was a participant in the free lunch program.

The middle school student, named Ryan Turk, was on line for lunch, and went back to get a carton of milk. He was then accused of trying to steal the milk, the police were called, and he was placed under arrest for larceny. He was also suspended for theft, being disrespectful, and using his cell phone in school. The milk should have been free because Turk is part of the school's free lunch program. School officials say that Turk had gotten disorderly, and he has since appeared in juvenile court to defend himself:

"I'm angry, I'm frustrated, I'm mad. It just went too far," Turk's mom said, according to Fox News. "They are charging him with larceny, which I don't have no understanding as to why he is being charged with larceny when he was entitled to that milk from the beginning. This is ridiculous... this is beyond embarrassing... he's at home for 65 cents."

Meanwhile, the school responded in a statement, saying that the need for disciplinary action varies depending on how a student behaves during an incident.
