Hot Doug's Returns To Chicago This June For A Weekend Hot Dog Festival

Hot Doug's is coming back: the five sweetest words to any Chicagoan's ears. Hot Doug's, the now-closed Chicago hot dog icon, will be back for one weekend only for the Dog Dayz of Summer, a hot dog festival presented by Doug Sohn, the owner of Hot Doug's, and Goose Island Beer Company on June 27 and 28.

Attendees will enjoy beer pairings with Doug's "greatest hits," as well as his famous duck fat fries and live music. Sohn will resume his old role behind the counter just for the occasion. Hopefully, one of the selections will be the beloved foie gras and sauternes duck sausage with truffle aïoli.

"Hot dog lovers are invited to eat, drink, and be merry again with Doug!" said Sohn, who will lead a lively panel discussion on a variety of topics, including the history of the Chicago hot dog.  Sohn seemed excited about returning to hot dog-making. The $75 tickets can be purchased now for four different timeslots throughout the weekend. There will be no VIP section: Every ticket holder will receive the same access to hot dogs and beer.
