Here's An Amazing Photo Of Chef José Andrés Hanging Out With A Stingray At The Cayman Cookout

During this year's Cayman Cookout, an annual event where chefs like Eric Ripert, Daniel Boulud, José Andrés, Sean Brock, Marcus Samuelsson, and others gather for a weekend of cooking demonstrations and beautiful dinners, our friend José Andrés got to spend time with a special guest, which you can see in the photo below.

It appears that Daniel Boulud was the lucky photographer who got to capture this moment between chef Andrés and an amiable stingray with whom the chef shared some squid.

Was it prepared in an elaborate dish in classic Andrés fashion?

We may never know (but we doubt it).

Aside from his role as friend of the ocean, the playful chef is known for his ability to bring a little mischief to the Cayman Cookout each year.

Last year, when asked to explain one of his Cayman dishes, Andrés drew only this mysterious "self-portrait."
