"We couldn't be happier with the way The Great Big Bacon Picnic went its first year," said co-founders and brothers Craig and Lon Taylor. "We will push the bar even higher this year, and remain committed to providing bacon lovers with the best in culinary creativity and skill, along with local top-shelf spirits and craft beers in an immersive and fun environment, while also giving back to the local community."

Ten percent of net proceeds from the event will be donated to City Harvest, and the Taylor brothers are promoting the principles of the Slow Food movement by encouraging festival vendors to work with local suppliers and farmers that produce organic and sustainable ingredients, according to a release.
