Gay North Carolina Waitress Receives Death Threat Bible Passage As Her 'Tip'

A North Carolina waitress was shocked when — instead of receiving a tip — her customers left her a Leviticus Bible verse calling for the death of all gay people. Alexandra Judd, who is gay, was shocked at the threatening note.

"I've heard of people leaving fake money, or writing funny stuff in the tip spot of a check," Alexandra Judd told WBTV-TV. "But [I] never believed it would happen to me, in the way that it did."

She posted a picture of the receipt online which references Bible verse Leviticus 20:13, which famously states: "If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination. They shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them."

This should technically mean that Judd — as a woman — is in the clear, but the group of customers who left the note certainly didn't think so. "Praying for you," the note ended. Judd added that the group had been "very rude" during the entire time she served them.

"I don't care what anyone says, this is the most disrespectful thing you can do," she wrote on Facebook. "Don't pray for me darling, I have everything I could possibly want and need in my life."
