Free Pancake Day Returns to IHOP for Its Eleventh Year

Chain aims to raise $3.5 million for local charities

Free pancakes will be served from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on March 8, 2016.

It’s that time of the year again: National Pancake Day is coming back to IHOP, heralding the return of free short stacks with a voluntary donation to local charities.

This year, the chain hopes to raise $3.5 million for Children’s Miracle Network HospitalThe Leukemia & Lymphoma SocietyShriners Hospital for Children, and other local charities.

Since its first National Pancake Day in 2006, IHOP has raised $20 for local charities. Last year alone, the chain served 6.6 million free pancakes and raised $3.5 million, according to a release.

Darren Rebelez, president of IHOP, says, “Every pancake we give away has a purpose on National Pancake Day. Through the generosity of our guests and the hard work and commitment of our franchisees and their team members, we will help fund life-saving treatment and care for children in need.”

The free short stacks will be offered on March 8, 2016 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
