Eat At Taco Bell And Feed A College Scholarship

Now you have a good excuse for that 1 a.m. fast-food run. Taco Bell has announced that starting today and over the next two weeks, they will be donating 10 cents from every Doritos Locos taco purchased, up to $500,000, to the Live Mas scholarship fund.

"We know how much our fans love the Doritos Locos Taco," said Brian Niccol, CEO at Taco Bell Corp. and chairman of the Taco Bell Foundation. "We're equally passionate about the Live Más Scholarship, which is why we decided to try something new, joining the scholarship with our most successful product for the benefit of today's young innovators, creators, and dreamers. Doing good is as easy as eating your favorite taco."

Taco Bell's Live Más scholarship is dedicated to the future "innovators, creators, and dreamers" of the American job force. In 2017, the fast-food company plans to give out $1,000,000 in scholarships to 100 eligible students.

Earlier this year, scholarship recipients were called upon to create new television commercials and reinvent taco packaging, and the program connected the students to veterans in the fields of advertising and marketing. The 30-second commercial the students helped create will air nationally this month, and the new packaging they designed will be used during the two-week-long promotion.
