Dunkin' Donuts Introduces A Pizza Bagel In Select Markets

Though Dunkin' Donuts has not expressly identified it as such, the company's new "Tomato Mozzarella Supreme Bagel" would appear to be the breakfast chain's version of a pizza bagel, which is a big deal for anyone who grew up on pizza bagels from a certain brand as an after-school snack.

The nostalgia-inducing new menu item features mozzarella cheese, tomatoes, and herbs on top of a plain bagel.

In the words of The Huffington Post, the new Supreme Bagel "tells us one thing: 'when pizza's on a bagel, you can have pizza anytime.'"

As The Huffington Post points out, this move not terribly unlike the appropriation of another dessert, "which is most definitely not a Cronut."

The Tomato Mozzarella Supreme Bagel is available now through early 2015 at select locations. Meanwhile, Dunkin' Donuts also recently introduced a new chocolate croissant, which is available nationwide at participating locations. Both items have a suggested retail price of $1.79.
