David Chang Opens Fuku+ In Midtown Manhattan

Without warning, Momofuku founder David Chang has opened a second outpost of his already-booming fried chicken restaurant, Fuku, in Midtown Manhattan. The newest location, which opened at noon on Thursday, September 10, will accept reservations for special Fuku+ packages in "XL" and "XXL," featuring the spicy fried chicken sandwich and several sides.

The XXL menu, set at $400, even includes slow-roasted pork butt, fried short ribs, and Sichuan pork bread balls.

Fuku+ also features an expanded walk-in menu, including salt and pepper shrimp, Sichuan pork flatbread, and Fuku bites with "JD sauce." Walk-ins will be served at the bar on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Chang, who has previously alluded to plans for Fuku expansion, perhaps into his own fast food empire, wrote on the Momofuku blog that the new space would allow the team "to debut and test new offerings though the walk-in menu, as well as new styles of service."

Fuku+ is located on the first floor of 15 West 56th street (formerly the Má Péche balcony bar) and is open from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. daily.
