Best Pizzeria In America, Frank Pepe's, Is Coming To Boston

Boston will soon be the home of a culinary icon. Frank Pepe's Pizza of New Haven, Connecticut, home to the legendary white clam pizza, will soon be opening a location in Boston. Frank Pepe's, which just celebrated its 90th anniversary, was voted the #1 pizza in America according to The Daily  Meal's 101 Best Pizzas in America. The news was broken by Connecticut Magazine, which explained that the Massachusetts area is already a huge fan of the famous pizza after discovering it at Pepe's Mohegan Sun location. According to Hidden Boston, the restaurant could open later this year, and an anonymous tipster confirmed that the new location will likely be at the mall in Chestnut Hill.

"Going into the 90th year, we're looking to show our appreciation to our customers," says Gary Bimonte, the grandson of Frank Pepe who is already looking ahead to the restaurant's 100th anniversary. "As a family, we want to carry on our grandfather's legacy."

Berry also confirmed that, in addition to the Boston location, he will be opening two or three more in Connecticut, effectively expanding the Pepe empire to 12 locations, and 12 opportunities to chow down on some of the best pies in America.

The Daily Meal has reached out to Frank Pepe's for comment, and is awaiting a response.
