9-Year-Old Girl Shot In The Leg While Selling Girl Scout Cookies

A 9-year-old girl was shot in the leg while selling Girl Scout cookies in the north side of Indianapolis earlier this week, according to WXIN-TV, an affiliate of Fox.

The young girl, Sinai Miller, was walking in her neighborhood with her two younger sisters, and was hit by a bullet in the lower calf.

Mark Chandler, Miller's mother's boyfriend, told the police that Miller and her sisters had barely gotten outside before shots were fired.

"I came downstairs and she was sitting over there and that's her little boot and the blood." Chandler told WXIN-TV. "It's just ridiculous. She's 9 years old, man."

Police are looking for suspects in a blue Ford Expedition in connection to the shooting, which appeared to be entirely random.

Miller was taken to Riley Hospital for Children at IU Health, and is now recovering at home.
