Wine Trade Show Takes Another Shot At US Wine Market

Vinexpo, an international wine trade show based in France, has announced it plans to take on New York City with a show in 2018. The move comes five years after the company first attempted to launch in the United States in 2012 but was "forced to cancel," Decanter reported.

Although the show will be for businesses rather than consumers, wine's popularity is still on the rise, with the United States being the world's largest market. According to a survey by the Harris Poll earlier this year, 31 percent of Americans turn to wine as their alcoholic beverage of choice.

According to the trade group, Vinexpo New York is set to take place on March 5 and March 6 at the Javits Convention Center.

Vinexpo also says it plans on hosting the two-day event every year. The show will be organized by media and events company Diversified Communications.
