Bad News, Starbucks Fans: You'll Have To Wait Longer For The Pumpkin Spice Latte This Year

Mere days after Starbucks dropped the big news that their iconic pumpkin spice latte (PSL) will now contain real pumpkin (cheers to that!), we learned that we'll have to wait a little bit longer this year to satisfy our pumpkin spice cravings.Starbucks announced that the PSL will appear on Starbucks menus nationwide September 8, with some markets receiving early access on September 4.

Last year, we started sipping on some spice before Labor Day even hit. But perhaps this year the new recipe is taking a little bit longer to perfect — we're picturing baristas carving pumpkins before opening the doors for the day. In the past, Starbucks has granted early access to some gold rewards points members or sent their Twitter followers on a massive scavenger hunt to taste the pumpkin spice latte before their peers, but there's no indication of such games this year.

The Daily Meal has contacted Starbucks and we will update this story with any hints on how to get your hands on the PSL first.
