De Gustibus, New York City’s longest-running recreational cooking school, has re-launched with a newly renovated classroom and kitchen, just in time for the school’s 35th anniversary.
Located on the eighth floor of Macy’s Herald Square, De Gustibus Cooking School by Miele has welcomed some of the world’s most legendary culinary talents, including Julia Child, Jacques Pépin, Thomas Keller, and Daniel Boulud.
Just in time for the winter season, the school reopens with an impressive lineup: Chris Cipollone of the newly Michelin-starred Piora (December 1); followed by Gabrielle Hamilton of Prune (December 8); Michael Anthony of Gramercy Tavern benefitting God’s Love We Deliver (December 11); James Kent and Mark Welker of The NoMad in a class to benefit nonprofit ment’or (December 16); Top Chef season 11 winner Nicholas Elmi of Laurel in Philadelphia (January 26); James Beard Award winner Jamie Bissonnette of Toro (February 4); and Matt Lambert of the Michelin-starred The Musket Room (February 9), among others.
Each class accommodates up to 60 guests and the newly designed kitchen provides the opportunity for hands-on classes with expert guidance.
