The Central Perk Pop-Up Is Officially Open In New York City

Eight O'Clock coffee's heavily anticipated pop-up replica of the infamous Friends Central Perk coffee shop is finally open.

The Daily Meal had the chance to preview the iconic '90s haunt before it opened to the public.

The month-long pop-up celebrates the 20th anniversary of the premiere of the show that gave us all wildly unrealistic expectations about the kind of real estate you could acquire as a twenty-something in the city — in Greenwich Village, no less — but we loved it anyway.

Thanks to Eight O'Clock Coffee, the space is a functioning (free!) coffee shop with a specially created Central Perk blend just for the occasion, and also functions as a miniature Friends museum.

There are tons of memorabilia on display, from the tape when Ursula (masquerading as Phoebe) was a "vampire lay-er" to Ross' comic book, Science Boy.

The Rembrandts, responsible for the show's theme song that you definitely still know the words to, performed a set, and Gunther (actor James Michael Tyler) was there with hair as bleached as ever.

As expected, the line to get in (and sit on that iconic couch) is massive, but you could always use the time to bone up on Friends trivia.
