Most of the world's great capitals have grand food halls: London has Harrods and Paris has Le Grande Epicerie. New York finally got its own with the opening of The Plaza Food Hall by Todd English: The Plaza Food Hall by Todd English.

Tucked away in a subterranean space within The Plaza Hotel, this glittering food hall feels somewhat secretive. While most of the tourists are booking tables upstairs at The Palm Court, city insiders head downstairs to The Food Hall.
