New Mid-Market Food Emporium Opens In San Francisco

As reported by the San Francisco Business Times, a new food Emporium will be opening in Mid-Market's Market Square. The store will be called the Market and is scheduled to be completed by October of this year.

The Market will generate 200 jobs while giving San Francisco vendors a chance to sell local food products according to a press release from San Francisco Mayor Ed Lee and District 6 Supervisors Jane Kim.

Owners Bruce Slesinger and Tom Collom will focus on natural and specialty food. There will also be a "shops within a shop." The two also currently own Small Foods, another local grocery store and cafe.

As Collom told San Francisco Business Times, "The Market will redefine the way we shop for food and create a unique destination in the newly revitalized Central Market neighborhood." He added that the Market is the next generation of the food store for a new generation.

The Market will feature grab-and-go foods, a creamery, an oyster and sushi bar, a wine and tapas bar, an extreme salad bar and more.
