Nina Fomufod

Inspired by the mortadella and fig focaccianini made by Jeff Mauro, this simple take on the tasty ingredients can be made in 10 minutes. Packed with flavor, it’s just like the lunch sandwiches mom used to make you — except all grown up. Make a picnic in the park an event with this classy eat.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 thick slice Asiago
  • 2 slices bread
  • 3-4 slices mortadella
  • 2-3 figs, sliced thinly

DIRECTIONS

Assemble the sandwich by placing the cheese on the first slice of bread. Add the mortadella, making sure to fold it into ribbons over the cheese. Next, place the figs on top of the meat, and add the second slice of bread.

Heat in the toaster oven until cheese begins to melt. Serve and enjoy!
