Michael Scelfo Wins Boston's Cochon 555

Following his landslide win as Lamb Jam Master at this year's Lamb Jam, Chef Michael Scelfo continued on to claim the prestigious title of Prince of Pork this weekend at Cochon 555.

Along with four other chefs, Chef Michael prepared and presented a variety of pork dishes to a panel of twenty judges along with a whole hoard of hungry, pork-loving people. Each chef was given an entire pig, and Chef Michael landed a big Berkshire beauty from Bramble Farms.

His best dish was arguably the crispy Earl Grey pork belly over grits and his liverwurst, pictured.

Chef Michael will now go on to compete at the Grand Cochon event on June 16 with the other Cochon masters from all over the nation. Add this to his spot at the Ultimate Lamb Jam in the fall as well as his upcoming restaurant, Alden and Harlow to open in Harvard Square and things are really looking up:)

Other highlights included Kevin Mabry's sweeping victory as the winner of Cochon's first ever Punch Challenge.
