Meet Madsummer, The Megayacht Gwyneth Paltrow Partied On With Miami Billionaire Jeff Soffer

With Gwyneth Paltrow's marriage to Coldplay frontman Chris Martin in pieces, lots of attention is being focused on her relationship with handsome Miami billionaire, Jeff Soffer. Soffer, who married Elle Macpherson last year, has denied any romantic attachment to Paltrow — though rumors have circulated for years. Last October the New York Post's Page Six reported that Paltrow joined Soffer on board his brand new megayacht, the 257-foot Madsummer, back in 2008 when he reopened the fabulous Fontainebleau Hotel in South Beach, Florida. According to the paper, Soffer gave Paltrow a private tour of the hotel, and she joined him on the lavish yacht the next day. While we can't say whether they're anything more than friends, Soffer certainly has wealth and taste in spades, and the yacht is a powerful attraction in its own right.

Built by Lurssen Yachts in 2008 for an estimated $270 million, Madsummer features a helicopter pad with refueling station, six ensuite guest cabins, an owner's deck with a six-person jacuzzi, a dive room, a spa with a hammam steam room and massage area, a movie theater, a larger 16-person jacuzzi, and a constant-current swimming pool. The yacht is available for charter for about $1 million per week. Designed by Alberto Pinto with exterior styling by the famed Espen Oeino, she can accommodate 12 guests and 25 crew members in all. With a cruising speed of 12 knots, a maximum speed of 17 knots, and a range of 6,000 nautical miles, thanks to the 126,000-liter fuel tanks, the yacht is the perfect combination of performance and luxury. No wonder Gwyneth wanted to spend so much time on it.
