Foursquare Tips

  • Great ambience, nightclub afterdark, nice lunch spot otherwise.
  • Clean, very basic rooms & a lot of character (ex-brothel, shanghai tunnels, ghosts, etc.) Bands always play late into the night, so pack earplugs. Better yet, stay up with 'em & close down the saloon!
  • Man fuck this place. You must be a chump if you are here. I hate the white beagle
  • Mars Retrieval Unit plays a FREE funk rock show here every first Wednesday of the month. They are definitely a must-see!
  • Time to get back to the White Eagle & enjoy some good music.
  • Friday night happy hour from 4-6, free live music from the Reverb Brothers 5:30-7:30 .
  • stay for less than $60 per night!
  • Outdoor patio.
  • Live music. Patio. McMenamins did another great restoration. Same food & drink as others but nice atmosphere
  • Fresh squeezed grapefruit juice! The outside patio with fire pit and decent food are all good reasons to like the White Eagle!
  • Watching Don and the Quixote's!
  • Thai sweet potato fries are wicked tasty!
  • Good beer, lousy burgers
  • Built in 1899 as a tavern and whorehouse and supposedly haunted by many spirits. The basement and upstairs has the most activity. A young man who worked here died in the 1930s in his 2nd floor bedroom
  • Great spot for low-key music not too far from the Rose Garden and Convention Center.
  • Great spot for live music on a Sunday night.
  • Mmmm the rubinator!
  • The rooms are clean and cheap, although stuffy in the summer. Not for the light sleeper (you can hear the music in the bar below) or those who are weird about their privacy (shared bathrooms/showers).
  • Great open mic on Sunday nights.
  • Try the oduls!
