Man Wins Pizza For A Year, Donates Prize To Food Bank

Free pizza for a year would usually mean a lot of hot meals and delicious cold pizza breakfasts for one lucky person, but one Pennsylvania man who won free pizza for a year recently opted to donate the prize to a local food bank instead.

According to The Independent, Josh Katrick won two free large pizzas and a bottle of soda every month of 2017 from local pizza chain Mario's Pizza. When he won, he decided to share the prize instead of keep it for himself.

Katrick told reporters he has colon cancer, and he's been getting so much support from friends, family, and members of the community that he felt compelled to pass on his good luck and give the pizzas to the Northampton Food Bank.

When the pizzeria owners heard what Katrick wanted to do with his winnings, they were so impressed that they decided to double the prize; now, Katrick and the food bank will both get free pizzas every month of 2017.
