Man Eats Pizza While Foster Child Dies In Hot Car

Every summer, it seems like we hear a story about a child dying after being accidentally left in a hot car every other day. Usually the caretaker at fault forgets about the child while at work or some other important obligation, but on July 24 29-year-old Seth Jackson left his 10-month-old foster daughter in the car while he ate pizza, smoked marijuana, and watched Game of Thrones.

According to the Associated Press, Jackson picked up the unnamed girl from her babysitter in Wichita, Kan. after taking their 5-year-old adopted child to a doctor's appointment and picking up pizza. He locked the car outside on the 90-degree day, smoked marijuana while eating the pizza and watching television with his partner, and forgot about the girl until he heard a child crying during an episode of Game of Thrones more than two hours later. By then, it was too late and the child had died of hyperthermia.

Jackson and his partner had been foster parents for the little girl since she was two weeks old, and also have five other children in their care. According to the AP, Jackson will be charged with murder.
