Los Cabos Resort Launches Its First Spices Festival

Luxury resort and spa The Westin in Los Cabos, Mexico, has kicked-off its inaugural Spices Festival at its Four-Star Diamond Award-winning Arrecifes restaurant. The month-long celebration will feature a special three-course prix fixe menu that showcases all the intense flavors, colors, and cultures of Mexico with an array of exciting new appetizers, entrees, and desserts.

Some creations on offer include parrot fish with pimento butter, lemongrass and ginger, and roasted fennel with vanilla essence, and a key lime and cardamom sorbet with Coyuca salt.

Aside from the spicy cuisine the festival will also offer a spicy performance from renowned jazz vocalist Monique Mendonca who'll aim to wow crowds with her signature soul, rhythm and blues, and bossa nova style.

"Mexican cuisine has always been a fusion of diverse culinary traditions from around the world," explains the venue's executive chef Manuel Peruyero in a statement. "The Spices Festival celebrates this heritage, and provides guests the opportunity to experience the variety and intensity of Mexico's hallmark spices."

The Westin also holds a Mango Festival in June and their annual Flavors of Chiles Festival in November. The Spices Festival runs throughout March and tickets start from $53 per dining guest.
