Mai Tais worth a recommendation from Anthony Bourdain are just one of the reasons to visit this bar in Chinatown. This cash only dive bar is a hole-in-the-wall in the best way.

Foursquare Tips

  • The mai tais are deadly, but tasty.
  • Coolest little bar in Chinatown, where tired regulars, hip locals & confused tourists meet. Tip: Get a shot of the magical Chinese elixir pronounced in-gah-pay in the clay bottle behind the bar.
  • I'm the mayor because I was here before Bourdain, bitches!
  • Ask for the "Chinatown Mai Tai" -- have 2 and be done for the night.
  • Order the house special and you will forget it !
  • The Mai-Tais, blended and served in plastic cups, are a particular favorite here. Anthony Bourdain got bombed on them. You will too. The well whiskey comes from China. Cash only.
  • A gem of a bar located smack in the middle of Chinatown. Just do it. You won't leave disappointed.
  • Seriously? You've never been here?
  • Love it! Chinese dive bar right up to the early 90s hip hop they play. Do a shot of Chinese whiskey for me!
  • Beware of the Mai Tai: so good you won't want to stop at just one. Though you should probably stop at just one.
  • Great drinks. Wait where am I? What's happening right now?
  • Best Mai Tais.
  • Try the mai tai
  • Say hi to awesome bartenders Jackie and Winnie!
  • Li Po might not be your cup of tea, but that doesnt mean it cant be your cup of rice wine. As the great poet for whom the bar is named once said, Three cups open the grand door to bliss.
  • Usually full of older Chinese men. Not really my kind of place (1 of 4 petals via Fondu)
  • try a Mao Tai
  • Mai tais are great..... And deadly
  • If you do anything at least once in your life, visit the Li Po Lounge and have a Mai Thai with the "special Chinese whiskey." So fun. So boozy.
