  • Leonard Rego started baking malasadas (Portuguese pastries similar to doughnuts) at his bakery in the 1950s. His son continues the tradition, serving the rolled-sugar pastries hot from the oven.

  • WARNING! Don't park across the street at the empty lot, they will BOOT your car and you'll need to pay $160 CASH. They are sneaky and they would come from behind and boot your car without notice.
  • Words can't describe the deliciousness that is a malasades. Order the plain sugar. Period. If you cone to Oahu and don't stop here, you're crazy.
  • ALL the malasada flavors are good! You won't be disappointed!
  • Krispy Kremes and Dunkin Doughnut can suck it. These are fantastic.

  • We tried all 8 flavors of the malasadas. Our favorite is the Li-hing sugar. U should try it!

  • It's all good here but they are famous for hot malasadas. Get them in a box if you're not eating them right away (so they won't get soggy).
  • Every month there's a new flavor. But the bakery always has custard and dobash fillings -- both are a nice change from the usual sugar-coated malasada.
