Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup plus 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup grains of paradise
  • 1/4 cup lemon zest
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne
  • 2 tablespoon dried thyme
  • 3 pound ground turkey
  • 1/4 cup seasoned breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup finely diced onion
  • 2 egg whites, lightly beaten
  • 1/4 cup chopped parsley
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 12 hamburger buns, toasted
  • 12 bibb lettuce leaves
  • 12 slices tomato
Directions
  1. Combine the ½ cup of salt, brown sugar, grains of paradise, lemon zest, cayenne, and dried thyme in a small bowl to make the rub. In a large bowl, mix ground turkey, seasoned breadcrumbs, onion, egg whites, parsley, garlic, 1 teaspoon of salt, and pepper. Form into 12 patties. Coat each patty with the lemon pepper rub. Cook the patties on grill over medium heat, turning once, 4-5 minutes on each side. Place the patties, lettuce and tomato on the buns.
